for lack of a bell, by Laura Tavasse

in the mornings
i check the mirror
to make sure my eyes are still
open

just like i check
all the obituaries
to make sure he’s still around
yelling dingdingding
when on his little bike

i wish one could preserve
scents
i want him to know
our backyard has been smelling of
elderflower
since april

About Laura Tavasse

Laura Tavasse was born in Vienna and is stubbornly holding on to the idea of writing a book one day. Meanwhile, she spends her days studying something completely different, frowning at people on the evening train and waving at security cameras.
