the morning sun
is our perfume.
it guides us
to a quaint
breakfast shop
not far from the home
you once built.
hash browns,
pancakes,
sides of fruit,
and a few
miss you’s.
i ensure your
cup of coffee
is always filled to
the brim …
even if you choose
to leave mine half full.
