Slow Violence II, by Amber Rollinson

The glacier cracks
unfreezing with tears of meltwater

He turns out the light as he leaves

                             In the valley
mist is a net over a snared rabbit
                             momentarily free
                             to rush like water

The glacier breathes, shuddering to gather snow
around her, becoming a woman.

Around her, becoming a woman
the glacier breathes, shuddering to gather snow

                            to rush like water
                            momentarily free
mist is a net over a snared rabbit
                            in the valley

He turns out the light as he leaves

unfreezing with tears of meltwater
the glacier cracks
