The hours go to die to this place
full of palm trees
which the breeze hugs
and whispers to
how heavy the air feels.
And the fingertips of the clouds
reach out to the crown of the trees
(other trees, not these).
And when the soft white breathes
over the dark blue of the mountains,
a hundred birds take flight,
circling and steering,
as if regretting life.
