Thoughtful Maybe To A Fault, by Gerard Sarnat

Today’s our sweetest and most

artistic grandson’s ninth birthday.

Elliot wished to celebrate by taking

a walk in pouring rain next to bar

mitzvah age iconic bro Simon along

with their two younger first cousins,

each one holding a different colored

umbrella. Afterwards, Ell whispered

to me I wasn’t asked to participate

though he would have liked it ‘cause

he thought I hurt my back carrying

little Liav on already sore shoulders.
